About
Windows magazine is a bi-annual publication by the University Library at UNC-Chapel Hill. As the art director and designer for Windows magazine, I translated editorial content into cohesive visual stories across print and digital. The magazine’s goal is to engage Friends of the Library and cultivate relationships through impactful visual and written storytelling.
My Role
Directed and designed 12 issues since 2020; led full redesign in 2022.
Developed unique visual strategies for each themed issue.
Managed freelance photographers, shot lists, and locations.
Researched and selected visual content from library collections and archives.
Produced digital editions, web graphics, and accessible PDFs.
Ensured adherence to University and Library branding guidelines.
Outcomes
Approximately 4,000 copies mailed in segments with targeted messaging on custom envelopes.
Email campaign with an average 45% open rate and an average 11% click rate.
